Melissa Baumgart writes and teaches creative writing to children in New York City. She studied Radio/TV/Film & History at Northwestern University and has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She was recently named the 2018 winner of the Katherine Paterson Prize by Hunger Mountain Journal for the Arts.
